GUNS N' ROSES' Summer 2017 European Leg Of 'Not In This Lifetime' Tour Rakes In More Than $112 Million
October 18, 2017GUNS N' ROSES leads the latest slate of ticket sales data reported to Billboard Boxscore with box-office grosses from nineteen shows during the summer 2017 European leg of the band's "Not In This Lifetime" tour.
Not counting GN'R appearance at the TW Classic festival in Werchter, Belgium, the group added $112 million in sold ticket revenue to the trek's overall gross that is now believed to approaching the $400 million mark since its April 2016 launch.
U.K. was the only market to offer two shows to fans. London Stadium sold a total of 139,267 tickets for concerts on June 16 and June 17. The $17.2 million gross at the London venue was the top grosser on the entire European run.
GUNS N' ROSES kicked off the European leg of "Not In This Lifetime" on May 27 in front of a sold-out crowd of 80,000 at Ireland's Slane Castle. That show surpassed the $8 million mark in ticket sales.
Pollstar reported earlier in the year that "Not In This Lifetime" tour was the most popular and highest-grossing global tour of 2017.
About seventy people travel with the show in addition to the truck drivers; that number goes upwards of five hundred, including the local workers, by show date once catering, security, etc. are factored in, according to the tour's production manager, Dale "Opie" Skjerseth.
GUNS kicked off its long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour in April 2016 with a club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California's Coachella festival.
The "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic lineup members Slash (guitar),Duff McKagan (bass) and Axl Rose (vocals) backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Fank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and new second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
